How to use these sample QR codes
Point your phone camera or QR scanner at any code on this page, or download the PNG to test printing and design layouts. Every sample uses safe, fictional data: phone numbers are in the 555-01xx range reserved for fiction, email addresses use example.com, and the WiFi network does not exist.
What each type is good for testing
- URL and long URL — check that your scanner opens links, and how it copes with denser codes.
- WiFi, vCard, calendar and SMS — check that your phone or app understands structured QR formats, not just links.
- Max error correction — compare it with the normal URL code to see how extra error correction makes the pattern denser.
Testing print size
Print the same code at several sizes and step back until it stops scanning. A common rule of thumb is that a QR code should be at least one-tenth as wide as the scanning distance — so a code scanned from 1 metre away should be about 10 cm wide. See the full QR code size guide.
