Why frames get more scans
A plain QR code doesn't say what it does. A frame with a clear label — “Scan to pay”, “Scan for WiFi”, “Scan to order” — tells people what they'll get, which makes them far more likely to scan. It also makes the code look like a deliberate part of your design.
Good call-to-action ideas
- Restaurants: “Scan for menu”, “Order from your table”, “Rate us on Google”.
- Shops: “Scan to pay”, “Chat on WhatsApp”, “Follow us”.
- Events: “Scan to register”, “Get directions”, “Add to calendar”.
- Hotels and cafés: “Scan for free WiFi”.
Design tips
- Keep labels to 2–4 words so they stay large and readable.
- Use a dark frame colour with white text, or the reverse — keep strong contrast.
- The QR code itself should stay dark on a light background.
