How to Make a Google Maps QR Code

1

Find your place

In Google Maps, search your business or drop a pin, then tap Share and copy the link.

2

Paste it above

Paste the link — or simply type the full address or the latitude and longitude.

3

Customise

Add the location pin icon or your logo.

4

Print it

Add the QR code to invitations, flyers, delivery bags and your website.

Three ways to set the location

  • Google Maps link (best): search your business in Google Maps, tap Share, and copy the maps.app.goo.gl link. It opens your exact listing, with reviews and opening hours.
  • Address: type the full address, including city and PIN code. The QR code opens a Maps search for it.
  • Coordinates: type latitude and longitude, such as 12.9716, 77.5946. Best for places without an address — a farm gate, a beach, a venue entrance.

Where to use a location QR code

  • Wedding and event invitations — see our wedding invitation QR guide.
  • Shop flyers, visiting cards and newspaper ads.
  • Hotel and homestay welcome cards.
  • Property listings and site visit boards.
  • Delivery instructions for hard-to-find addresses.

Common Questions

Does it open Google Maps or Apple Maps?

expand_more

Google Maps links open in the Google Maps app if it's installed, or in the browser. On iPhone without Google Maps, they open in Safari, where people can still get directions.

What's the most accurate option?

expand_more

A share link from your Google Maps listing, or exact coordinates. Addresses depend on how well Maps recognises them.

Can I use it for an event venue?

expand_more

Yes. Drop a pin on the entrance and share that link so guests arrive at the right gate.

Will it work without internet?

expand_more

The person needs internet to load the map, though offline Google Maps areas can still show the location.

Is it free?

expand_more

Yes. It's free to create and download, with no watermark and no sign-up.
