What to put on a wedding QR code

  • RSVP — a Google Form for attendance, number of guests and meal preferences.
  • Venue location — a Google Maps QR code that takes guests to the right gate.
  • Add to calendar — an event QR code with the muhurtham or ceremony time.
  • Live stream — a YouTube or Zoom link for relatives who can't travel.
  • Photo album — a shared Google Photos album where guests upload their pictures.
  • Wedding website or e-invite with the full schedule of functions.

Design tips for invitation cards

  • Dark on light. Gold or maroon on cream works; light gold on white or white on red often doesn't scan.
  • Size: at least 2.5 × 2.5 cm on the card, with blank space around it.
  • Add a label such as “Scan for venue directions” so guests know what it does.
  • Test a printed sample — foil, embossing and glossy coatings can stop codes scanning.

Need a few different codes? Make each one here, or use the QR code with frame tool to add a “Scan me” label in your colours.

Common Questions

Can I put more than one QR code on an invitation?

expand_more

Yes. Many couples use one for the venue location and one for RSVP or the wedding website. Label each one clearly.

Will the QR code work on gold foil?

expand_more

Foil is reflective and can make codes hard to scan. Use flat ink for the code if possible, and always test a printed proof.

What size should the QR code be?

expand_more

At least 2.5 × 2.5 cm, with a clear margin around it.

Can I change the RSVP link after printing?

expand_more

Only if the content behind the link changes, not the link itself. Use a Google Form — you can edit its questions without changing its link.

Is it free?

expand_more

Yes. It's free to create and download, with no watermark and no sign-up.
