What to link from your packaging
- Instructions and manuals — save printing costs and keep them up to date. Host PDFs with our PDF QR code tool.
- How-to videos — a YouTube QR code for setup, recipes or care tips.
- Reorder page — make buying again one scan away.
- Customer support — a WhatsApp QR code for questions and complaints.
- Warranty registration — a short form that collects the serial number.
- Reviews — ask happy customers for a rating on your store or Google.
Printing QR codes on packaging
- Minimum size about 2 × 2 cm for close scanning; larger on shelves people scan from a distance. See our QR code size guide.
- Avoid curves and folds. Codes wrapped around bottles or across a crease can fail.
- Leave a quiet zone — blank space around the code — and keep strong contrast.
- Need codes for every SKU or batch? Create them all at once with the bulk QR code generator.
QR codes and barcodes
A QR code doesn't replace the retail barcode used at checkout. For that, you need a registered EAN or UPC number — see our barcode generator. Retail is moving towards 2D codes, though: GS1's “Sunrise 2027” initiative aims for checkout scanners to read QR-based product codes by the end of 2027.
