Where agents and builders use QR codes
- Sale and rent boards — passers-by scan to see price, photos and contact details instantly.
- Brochures and flyers — link to the full photo gallery, floor plans and a virtual tour.
- Site visit boards — open the location in Google Maps.
- Newspaper and magazine ads — send readers to a WhatsApp chat for quick enquiries.
- Open houses — a sign-in form to collect visitor details.
Turn scans into leads
The fastest way to get a buyer talking is a WhatsApp QR code with a pre-filled message like “Hi, I'm interested in the 3BHK at Whitefield”. You know exactly which property they mean, and the conversation starts immediately.
Compliance note for India
Some state RERA authorities, including Maharashtra's, require a QR code on project advertisements that links to the project's registration details. Check your state's current rules — that registration QR code is separate from any marketing QR codes you add.
Size matters on sign boards
People scan boards from several metres away. A useful rule is that the code should be about one-tenth as wide as the scanning distance: about 30 cm wide for a board read from 3 metres. More in our QR code size guide.
